With the start of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, this year’s mascot, La’eeb, is receiving significant attention online, especially in China.
La’eeb is Arabic for “super-skilled player”, and the mascot made an appearance at the opening ceremony on Sunday Nov. 20, which also included an appearance by American actor Morgan Freeman and a performance by BTS member Jungkook and Qatari artist Fahad Al Kubaisi.
In the latest trend on Chinese social media, people are now dressing up their pets as La’eeb using white cloth or paper towels, and they are super adorable.
