A Cloaked Figure Was Spotted At King Charles’ Coronation And People Think It’s The Grim Reaper

A video of a cloaked figure walking by in the background of King Charles III’s coronation on Saturday May 6 is being widely shared, with people joking that the “grim reaper” and the “death ripper” had made an appearance at the ceremony.
In the video, a dark cloaked figure can be seen walking beneath the Rood Screen in Westminster Abbey.
Video of the moment went viral on Twitter, with a clip shared by user @realjoegreeeen, going viral and gained more than 1.8 million views.
Another clip calling the figure the “death ripper” also went viral on TikTok, gaining more than 20.5 million views.
People then started joking in the comments that it was Charles’ ex-wife, Princess Diana, or his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, coming back for her crown.
Contacted by Newsweek, Westminster Abbey identified the person as a verger, a member of the abbey community who assists with religious services but who is not a member of the clergy.
