Israel Has Bombed A Camp In Gaza, Setting Tents Sheltering Displaced Palestinians Ablaze
About 1.9 million Palestinians have been displaced by Israel’s genocide in Gaza, forcing many families to live in temporary camps or makeshift tents.
Israel has targeted and bombed a displacement camp sheltering displaced Palestinians in Gaza, setting tents ablaze and leaving many Palestinians without shelter despite the “ceasefire.”
On Wednesday, March 11, Israeli airstrikes struck an area near Al-Ansar camp in western Gaza City. Israeli forces reportedly sent evacuation orders to Palestinians in Al-Ansar camp, ordering them to evacuate the area within five minutes.
The camp was then struck, igniting a huge fire, sending plumes of smoke into the skythat spread to nearby tents sheltering displaced families, Anadolu reported.
Videos showed a large blaze tearing through the camp as residents tried to extinguish the flames using hoses and buckets of water.
The encampment was housing Palestinians displaced by months of Israel’s genocide, which has destroyed large parts of Gaza’s housing and infrastructure.
Casualty figures from the fire were not immediately clear, though medics reported injuries among civilians in the camp.

Earlier in the week, on March 8, shelling near a tent encampment in Nuseirat in central Gaza killed six people, including a girl, according to Reuters.
Israel has violated the “ceasefire” over 1,620 times, killing more than 663 people in Gaza since Oct. 10.
