This Woman In Malta Was Convicted For Having An Abortion And People Are Demanding Justice

A woman in Malta was convicted for having an abortion and people are demanding justice.

Abortion is illegal under all circumstances in Malta, and having an abortion or helping someone to get an abortion could result in three years in prison.

Local media reported that the woman has an abusive partner and did not want to have another child with him.

The court found the woman guilty of having a medical abortion at home, but gave her a conditional discharge, which means she will not have to go to prison if she does not commit another crime within three years.

The case is rare as this is the first time in at least six years that someone has been tried for having an abortion, according to the pro-choice groups.

Activists say the woman should not have been tried in the first place.Malta is the only country in the European Union that has a total ban on abortions.

The parliament is currently debating a draft law that would allow abortions when the woman’s life or health is at serious risk.
