UK Activists Crashed A Weapons Company’s Presentation To Protest It Building The Israeli Jets Bombing Gaza

Young activists in the UK have crashed and shut down a presentation by an aerospace company in Manchester to protest its role in providing Israel with weapons to bomb Gaza.

Activists from the Youth Front For Palestine, which consists of young people from Manchester and Birmingham, interrupted a career advice presentation by BAE Systems on Wednesday Feb. 7.

BAE Systems has been providing weapons such as fighter jet parts to Israel that are being used to bomb Gaza.

In a video that has since gone viral on multiple accounts on Instagram, one protester can be seen being carried out by security forces while shouting, “How can you live with yourselves? It’s genocide. It’s a living actual genocide which is being live streamed right now, and you are making money from it. How dare you?”

“BAE Systems is telling you to think about your futures when they are actively making sure that Palestinians don’t have one,” another woman protest standing in the audience says. “They are ripping apart children limb from limb by manufacturing the weapons like the fighter jets and machine guns that are used on the ground.”

“When you’re thinking about what you want to do in your future, you need to make sure that it’s not being part of corruption, of decimation,” she added. “The profit that [BAE Systems] has from making these weapons is covered in Palestinian blood.”

After the multiple disruptions, a BAE staff member then announces that they will be ending the presentation.

Another protester in the crowd holding a Palestinian flag then stands up and start chanting “BAE, we see your complicity”, adding that “we don’t want BAE Systems in Manchester right now.”

“Genocide collaborators should not be welcome anywhere – the duty to fight for Palestine and confront these companies falls upon us all,” the group wrote on their Instagram. “We know who you are, we know what you do – merchants of death, we’re coming for you!”

This is not the first time that activists have held protests against BAE system, with protesters blocking entrances to BAE facilities throughout November and December.

Israel’s airstrikes and ground offensive has killed more than 27,900 Palestinians in Gaza, mostly women and children, since Oct. 7.
